Total Milk output increased by 9.01% over 2009's performance for the same period with a daily output of 30,535 liters of milk over last year’s 28,012 liters even if the number of milking animals decreased by 1.17%. The number of dairy herd rose by 2.55% in NDA-assisted dairy areas.
NDA facilitated and administered the school and community based milk feeding programs that benefited 70,377 children sponsored by the Department of Education and the PL 480 Milk Feed Plus Project. Some 1,971 local dairy farmers were provided market of their milk produced as they were tapped as suppliers of milk in the milk feeding programs.
